Ben B. Page, 95, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2017.

A graduate of Wayne Township High School, he retired from farming in his Lees Creek, New Vienna community in 1978. A lifelong Quaker, he remained active in the Fairview Friends Meeting his entire life. Born to Elmer J. and Stella M. Page March 8, 1922, he married Ruth Anna Daniel of Wilmington, Ohio August 15, 1943, who, after 69 years of marriage, pre-deceased him in March, 2013.

Ben survived his four siblings: Howard, Raymond, Evelyn Page Porter, and Mary Page DeVoe.

Ben is survived by son Gary (Connie) of Wilmington, grandsons Brian (Hope) and Scott (Kristen); son Wayne (Laura) of Cincinnati, granddaughters Miranda Hasselman (Rick) and Allison Shrieves (Clay); and daughter Rebecca Hadley (Herb) of Romeoville, IL, granddaughters Chelsea Galutia (Yancy) and Dorian Auld; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Following his retirement from active farming, he became active in the Fayette County Council on Aging where he drove a daily Meals-on-Wheels route for thirteen years.

Ben served in the U.S. Army in Korea, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Active in almost every committee at Fairview Friends, he served as Clerk of Meeting for many years and was Quaker Knoll Camp Director. He and wife Ruth Anna organized scores of mission trips to the Indian Council House Friends Meeting in Oklahoma and a Central American mission trip to Belize.

Ben served on the Selective Service Board and the Simon Kenton and East Clinton School Boards. Camper in tow, he introduced his family to almost every western national park. A sports enthusiast and Reds season ticket holder for many years, he played on traveling baseball teams, and enjoyed softball, ping pong, croquet, boating, and water skiing. At age 95, he frequented the Senior Citizen pool room. He was also a regular Red Cross blood donor.

After his anatomical gift to The Ohio State University College of Medicine, final interment will be at the New Antioch Cemetery.

A celebration of life service will be held at Fairview Friends Meeting, New Vienna, OH at 2:00 pm on August 12, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Fairview Friends Meeting are suggested.
