Betty Eileen Curtis, 82, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, surrounded by her daughters at the Kobacker Hospice Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born December 15, 1933, to Roy and Mildred Priest King.

Betty was a lifetime member of the New Vienna Church of Christ and also attended Wilmington Church of Christ.

She adored her family, especially all of her grandchildren and her little great grandchildren.  She had a faithful spirit and love of God that she shared with all.  Many learned about Jesus from her through walks on the family farm and accompanying her to church.

Her interests included family get-togethers, gardening, sewing, reading and taking daily walks in her Woodside Drive neighborhood.  She had a love for sports, and was an avid fan of the Duke Blue Devils Basketball Team, where she spent many winters in front of her TV watching and cheering on the Dukies.

She is survived by her four daughters, Marsha (Jeffrey) Bennett, of Wilmington, Ohio, Peggy Mercer of Columbus, Ohio, Tamara (James) Stokes of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Terri Curtis of Lebanon, Ohio.  Surviving also are ten grandchildren: Tracie (Matthew) Doll, of Stevensville, Michigan, Todd Bennett, of Santiago, Chile, Renee Hurley, of Dayton, Ohio, Chad Henson, Wilmington, Ohio, Lindsey (J.D.) Pitzer, of Columbus, Ohio, Jamin (Jessica) Stokes, Tiffany (Nate) Zalenski, and Shane Stokes, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Amanda (Derek) Jones of Portsmouth, Ohio and Mallory (Joshua) Moore of Clarksville, Ohio.  Also, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson survive.  A sister, Patty Newland, of Hillsboro, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip E. Curtis, her parents, Roy and Mildred King, brother, Roy King, Jr., and grandson, Jeremy J. Henson, son-in-law, Benjamin C. Mercer, sister-in-law, Ruth Ellen Reeder, and brother-in-law, Joseph Newland.

Services will be at the New Vienna Church of Christ on Wednesday July 20 at 1PM.  Visitation will precede services at the church from 11AM to 1PM, and the burial will follow at the New Antioch cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Vienna Church of Christ or Wilmington Church of Christ.
