James H Purdin, Sr.

James H. Purdin,Sr., age 89, passed at St. Catherine’s in Washington Court House on Friday, September 16, 2016. 

Born in Greenfield on August 21, 1927, James was the son of Burch and Ida Setty Purdin. 

He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II.  James worked for the city of Washington Court House, maintaining the streets and cemetery. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Arlie McKinnley, who passed in 2002. 

Surviving are his children, Belinda (David) Michael of Sabina, Sonya Riley of Bloomingburg and James (Sharman) Purdin, Jr. of Washington Court House, step daughter Anna (Rodger) Frump of Chillicothe and stepson, Edwin Sheese.  Also left to cherish his memory  are 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Fulmer and brother, Paul (Ella Mae) Purdin, both of Greenfield. 

In addition to his parents and wife, James is preceded in death by his siblings, Eileen, Gladys, Virginia, Donald and George. An infant twin child, granddaughter Imogene Sheese and great granddaughter Kyrie Jane Michael. 

A celebration of James' life  and interment in Highlawn Cemetery will be held on Saturday October 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Littleton Funeral Home.
