Kenneth Holbert Obituary

Kenneth A. Holbert, age 88, of Milledgeville, passed peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2018. 

Born in Andersonville, Ohio, on September 19, 1929, he was the son of Elbert and Mary Teresa Woodrow Holbert. 

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ludene Massie Holbert.  The two were married November 27, 1953. 

Kenneth served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He later retired from Armco Steel.  He was a lifetime member of the Fayette County Fish and Game Lodge, a member of the NRA, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed farming.  Kenneth was also fond of morning coffee with friends, regular trips to Greenup Kentucky, and riding his bike. 

Surviving are three daughters: Bambi L. White, of Jeffersonville; Pamela (Roy) Kingery, of South Plymouth; and Angela (Richard) Steiner of Bloomington.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Christina (Thomas) George, Tony (Susan) Swigert, Roy (Sarah) Kingery, III, and Kendra (Bobby) Humphrey; great grandchildren: Jacob, Allyson, Austin, Fallon, Aiden,  Alex and baby Louie, due in March; sister, Erma Junk, of Frankfort; and brother, Bill Holbert, of Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife, Kenneth is also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Davis. 

Family will receive friends, at Littleton Funeral Home, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, from 4-7pm.  Funeral services, at the funeral home, will be on Wednesday, Feburary 14, 2018, at 11am.  Burial to follow at Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Fayette County. 

Pallbearers for Burial in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery were Christina George, Tony Swigert, Roy Kingery III, Kendra Humphrey, Thomas George and Bobby Humphrey.

The Honor Guard of Fayette County presented military honors and flag presentation to the family.
