Paul B. Akers

Paul B. Akers, 83 of Fairborn, passed away early Sunday morning, August 14, 2016 in Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Born January 14, 1933 in Printer, KY, he was the son of Dewey Sr. and Servia Spurlock Akers.

Paul attended New Vienna Schools until he joined the Navy, serving in Korea, spent most of his life in Fairborn and retired from Wright Patterson AFB after 36 years. He was a member of many organizations including: the Eagles, IOOF, American Legion and the VFW.

He is survived by his children, Cindy (Tim, dec) Leighly, of Wilmington and Dan (Linda) Akers, of Sabina. Also surviving are grandchildren: Brittany (Travis Worley) Akers and Kyle (Maccayla) Akers; great grandchildren, Christopher Leighly and Noah Worley; siblings, Jennie Lee Greene, of Alpharetta, GA and Landon Akers, of Columbus; along with the mother of his children, Joan Akers, of Wilmington.

Paul was preceded in death by son in law, Tim Leighly; grandchildren, Phillip and Alan Leighly; and siblings, Juanita, Dewey Jr., J.P. and James.

Funeral services will be at Noon on Wednesday at Littleton Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11:00 until the time of service. Burial will follow in the New Vienna IOOF Cemetery.
