Robert F. Caplinger

Robert F. Caplinger, age 80, of New Vienna, passed away with family at his side on Sunday morning, November 27, 2016 at the home of his daughter, Judy.

Born April 15, 1936, in Greenfield, the son of Fred and Margaret Rea Caplinger.

A 1954 graduate of New Vienna High School, Robert served in the Army, has been a lifelong farmer in Clinton County, drove a stock truck, and a semi for Buckeye Molding Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post #49, New Vienna IOOF Lodge, Ohio Farmers Union, sold advertising for The Ohio Farm News, loved his family, fishing, canoeing and even though he couldn't sing, he loved country music.

He is survived by his daughters, Judith (Steven) Huff of New Vienna and Gail Hutchins of Hillsboro. Daughter in law, Linda Caplinger of New Vienna. Grandchildren; Nathan James Caplinger and Angel Caplinger Van Hoose, Jeremy Huff and Justin Huff, Michael Hutchins and Bradley Caplinger. Great grandchildren, Caleb James Caplinger, Michael Seitz, Toby Huff, Maggie Huff, Anthony Richards, Huntlee Huff, Ridge Huff and Waylon David Van Hoose.

Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Caplinger Arrington, sons, James Caplinger and Richard Caplinger, and grandson, Mathew Alan Caplinger .

Funeral service will be on Wednesday November 30, 2016 2:00p.m. at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Friends may call on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the New Vienna IOOF Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Community Care Hospice.
