Charles Edward Routzahn, age 78, of Lynchburg passed peacefully on November 5, 2019, after a lengthy illness.
Born on September 12, 1941, he was the oldest son of the late Keifer E. and Lena Marie Creager Routzahn.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy Spence Routzahn. The two were married April 3, 1987.
A Simon Kenton graduate, Charlie was an Air Force Veteran. He worked as an electrician at Kettering Electric, ABX, and, for nearly 30 years, he worked for D & E Equipment Co in Wilmington. Charlie loved bowling, camping, enjoyed helping farmers, and especially loved spending time with his granddaughter. He also loved Hershey candy bars and was always willing to share, most often with his brother.
In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his daughter, Kristy Lynn (Michael) Harmon of Columbus; step-son, Bryan Hilderbrant of Lynchburg; several grandchildren, including his special granddaughter, Angelique Hilterbrant. Also left to cherish his memory are siblings: Arlene (Leroy) Schaffer of Sabina and Jim (Gail) Routzahn of Troy; nieces and nephews: Heather Schaffer, Edward, Gregory and Nichole Routzahn; and great-nieces and nephews: Steven, Jonathan, Allie and Emma.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Littleton Funeral Home, to help aide in expenses.
Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 11 – 12:30pm, when a funeral service will begin. Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
