Charlotte L. (Sheley) Bean

Charlotte L. Bean, age 87, of Lees Creek, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born in Fayette County on May 27, 1929, she was the only daughter of Hubert and Garnet Bandy Sheley. 

Charlotte is survived by her husband, William ‘Bill’ Bean, of nearly 64 years.  The two were married August 9, 1953. 

A 1947 graduate of Sabina High School, Charlotte was a member of the Lees Creek United Church of Christ and was a devoted homemaker.  She loved to play bridge in various clubs.  She was a member of the Bayview Book Club, Lees Creek Grange, Farm Bureau, and the Rosie Reds. 

In addition to her husband, Charlotte is survived by her children: William ‘Billy’ Bean, Cynthia (Dan) Saylor, Claudia (Jim) Hayes, and Noel (Lori) Bean.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Sarah, Emily, William, Abigail, Daniel, Betsy, Noelle, Samantha, Bryce, Misty, Mindy and Mitchell; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Richard Sheley and Thomas Sheley. 

In addition to her parents, Charlotte is preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Sheley. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to Lees Creek United Church of Christ (57 Cox Road, Sabina, 45169, Attn: Mary Jane Bentley). 

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 5-8pm, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, where a funeral will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 10:30am.  Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek.
