Welcome to the memorial page for

Cynthia 'Cindy' A. (Spencer) Hawkins

August 2, 1952 ~ January 2, 2018 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Cynthia A. Hawkins, 65, of Sabina, passed peacefully, at home, on January 2, 2018.

Born in Springfield on August 2, 1952, Cindy was the daughter of late John "Jack" Spencer and Betty Sparrow Spencer Taylor, of Springfield.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Michael B. Hawkins.  The two wed in Springfield on August 10, 1974.

Cindy was a member of Sugar Grove UMC in Washington Court House.  She loved Church and small group Bible study.  After the unexpected death of her son, Kevin, Cindy started Tears of Hope, a parent grief group to reach out to others that were hurting from the loss of a child.   Her heart went out to all of those who attended.

Cindy was a graduate of Northwestern High School.  She retired, as Librarian, from Sabina Library.  Cindy was a member of the Black and White Dairy Boosters 4-H Club.  She enjoyed quilt making, needle point, sewing, classic cars, reading and, as one of 8 children, she loved the farm life.  Cindy loved the Lord, and spending time with her family, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Cindy is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A. Trampler, her husband, Todd M. Trampler and their son, Lawson K. Trampler.  Also left to cherish her memory are brothers: John (Barb), Tim, and Toby (Jenny) Spencer; sisters: Jenny (Bill) Brackney, Esther (Ron) Houseman, Peggy (Dan) Mitch; brother in-law, Brian Brackney; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her son, Kevin M. Hawkins, and father, John Spencer, Cindy is preceded by a sister, Molly Brackney.

Friends will be welcome to visit at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church (4679 State Route 41 SE, Washington Court House, OH 43160) on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 12 Noon – 2pm, when a funeral service will commence.  Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery, Sabina.

Memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated to Fayette County Hospice.

Psalm 139:15-17

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
