Don  Zitney, 73, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 20, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.

Born February 1, 1945, in Uniontown, PA, the son of John and Agnes Ziemba Zitney.

He is survived by his wife Robyn Streber Zitney.

Don loved golf, landscaping and could build anything.  He enjoyed always helping family members and everyone who came to him for help or advice.  He retired from ABX - Airborne Express.  Following retirement, Don went to work for the Clinton County Auditor's office, in the Weights and Measures Department, and participated in Habitat for Humanity housing projects.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his sons: David and Steven (Ali) Zitney; stepson: Chad (Brandy) Hadley; step daughter: Shannon (Bill Weber) Wright; brother, Robert (Marie) Zitney.  He was Grandfather to eight grandchildren who he loved more than anything: Steven and Michael Zitney, Alex, Sydney and Wyatt Wright, Megan and Lauren Hadley and Hannah Powell; and nieces: Jacqueline (Jonathan) Funk and Jennifer (Jeff) Radcliffe.

Don was an animal lover, including his dogs Keesha and Sadie, he donated time, money and endless supplies to the Humane Society.  Donating every year to St. Jude, Shriners, Hospice, American Cancer Society and many more, Don was passionate about instilling a standard of excellence in his kids and grandkids that will never be forgotten.  He always said "If you want it done right you have to do it yourself" and to "always do it right the first time".

Don was overwhelmed by the support and love he received from family and friends in his last days on Earth.  The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness.

Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday March 24, 2018, at 12Noon at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Wilmington.  Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until Noon.
