Ellhue S. Bowles Sr.

Ellhue S. Bowles, Sr., age 87, of Ashford, WV, passed unexpectedly, at his son's home on Saturday, June 15, 2019. 

Born in Cabell, WV (now known as Ridgeview) on November 20, 1931, he was the son of the late William and Opal Holstein Bowles. 

Ellhue was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War.  Later, he retired from General Motors in Columbus, OH.  Ellhue was a member of the Church of God (Holiness) in Ashford. He was a big supporter of Memorial Day, honoring the lives of Veterans who passed by putting flags out at the cemetery for many years. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch just watching traffic go by and was a great conversationalist and story teller. 

Ellhue is survived by his son, Ellhue (Jessie) Bowles, Jr., of  Wilmington, OH, and daughter, Melissa (Mike) Sheek, of Piqua, OH.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Ellhue Bowles, III, Logan Bowles, Shana (Eric) Feasel, Bobbie (Brandon) Beverly, Tiffany (Gina) Huffman, Keerstin (Darrel) Porter, MaKayla Barbee, Breanna Sheek; along with 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Ernest, Tommy, Teddy (Elizabeth) and Betty Jo Perdue. 

In addition to his parents, Ellhue was preceded in death by siblings: Argatha, Bill "Junior", and Thelma "Sissy"; along with step-sisters: Sylve, Ann, Irene, and, Mary. 

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina has been entrusted with arrangements.  Condolences may be left at littletonfuneralhome.com.
