Roger L. Deatley, age 77,of Arcadia, Florida, passed away on Saturday afternoon, June 9, 2018, at The Tidewell Hospice.
Born January 11, 1941, in Hillsboro, he was the son of Oather and Emma Pauley Deatley Robbins.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Prater Deatley.
Roger attended grade school in Martinsville and graduated from Sabina High School. He then served in the U. S. Navy as lead aircraft mechanic. He retired from Cincinnati Milacron, after 27 years, as an electrician and a boiler operator.
Roger was a member of the Wilmington Masonic Lodge and Knight York Cross of Honor. He was also a member of the McArthur VFW #5299 and served on the post’s Honor Guard for 15 years.
In addition to his wife, Thelma, Roger survived by his children: Shari (Frank) Stackhouse of Bardstown, KY; Michelle (Rick) Asay of Taylorsville, KY; and Troy (Marilyn) Deatley of Bataan, Philippines; and his very special dog, Mitzi.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Quigley and brother Herbert Deatley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June15, 2018 at 2pm at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Friends may call on Thursday from 5pm until 7pm.
Burial will be in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.
