Ruth E. (Haines) Hussey

Ruth E. Hussey, 91, passed away on Thursday morning, July 27, 2017 at Cape May.

Born September 14, 1925 in Wilmington, the daughter of Eber and Edna Peelle Haines.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Hussey in 2000.

Ruth was a Wayne High School graduate and received her Bachelor’s in education from Wilmington College.  She taught in Port William, Reesville, Leesburg and West Carrolton before retiring from Hillsboro Schools in 1983.

A lifelong member of the Highland Friends, Ruth was a birthrite Quaker and also joined the Ada Chapel Friends Church.

Ruth is survived by her children, Janet (David) Bowman of Odessa FL, Joy (John) Settlemyre of Wilmington, Marian (Phillip) Howard of Dayton and Robert (Margaret) Hussey Jr. of Troy.

Also left to cherish her memory are 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and sister in-law, Rozella Haines of Wilmington.

Ruth is preceded by siblings, Helen Josephine Haines Leslie, Marjorie J. Haines and Donald E. Haines.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 4:30 at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina.  Friends may call from 3:00 until the time of service. Burial will be in the Sabina Cemetery.
