Thomas G. Lynch, Jr.

Thomas Garrett Lynch, Jr., age 68, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed at the Martinsburg VA Hospital on Saturday, July 13, 2019, surrounded by his family.  

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 22, 1950, he was the son of the late Joyce L. (Weissenburg) and Thomas G. Lynch, Sr.  

Thomas graduated from Brecksville High School (’68) and, later, received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Ohio Northern University.  He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Captain, and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.  Thomas was a member of the NRA and VFW Post 392 – Virginia Beach.  

Surviving are his children: Stephanie Brenneman of Powell, OH, Jillian (Jim) Huentelman of Olympia, WA, Melissa (Geoff) Pettis of Marietta, GA, and Thomas G. Lynch, III of Cleveland, OH.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Caroline, Ava and Robby Brenneman, Cooper, Oliver and Annabelle Huentelman, and Gregory, Spencer and Tucker Pettis; sisters: Martha O’Gorman of Virginia Beach, VA and Melanie Lynch of Shaker Heights, OH; and brother, Phillip Lynch of Fort Myers, FL.  

Memorial contributions, in Thomas’ name, may be made to West Mar House, Attn: Betty DeLauter, 1213 Grand Legacy Drive, South Pointe, Hagerstown, MD 21740.  West Mar House is located on the premises of the Martinsburg VA Medical Center and is available to families and VA patients that require short term housing while receiving care at the Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held in Martinsburg on Saturday, July 27, 2019.  Burial, at Arlington National Cemetery, will be held at a later date.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
