Anna Aleen Tyo, age 96, of Wilmington, passed on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
Born in Leesburg on February 26, 1920, she was the daughter of Floyd and Geraldine ‘Blazer’ Smith.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Edsel G. Tyo, who passed May 8, 2009. The two were married on July 12, 1943.
Anna was a 1940 graduate of Sabina High School. She was a devoted home maker, active in Friends of the Library, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Wilmington.
Anna is survived by her children: Judith (Michael, Sr.) Reiley, of Wilmington, and George (Sarah) Tyo, of Williamsburg. Also left to cherish her memory are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister, Nita Lee (James) Wilson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Community Care Hospice in Wilmington.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 11am – Noon, when a funeral service will begin, at Littleton Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
