Barbara J. Thompson

Barbara Jean Thompson, 75, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully at OSU Medical Center on Monday, August 24,2026.

Born on January 19, 1951, she was the daughter of Leslie and Anne Jordan Jones.

She married the love of her life, Thomas “Tommy” Thompson in 1968. The two enjoyed 59 wonderful years together.

She was a devoted mother and loved her family tremendously. Barbara was known by many as the Matriarch of the family. She was an advocate for the kids that she worked with at Town & Country MRDD, where she spent years as a Teacher’s Aide. She also enjoyed nature and being outdoors.

Barbara is survived by daughters: Leslie Thompson of Wilmington, Ohio and Lori (Scott) Dove of Sabina, Ohio. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Jordan Thompson, Rebekah (Corwin) Brock, Tommy Dove, John (Katie Conard) Dove; and two wonderful great-grandchildren: James and Damien Brocks. Also survived by her siblings; Charlene Reedy, Cathy Jones, and Rochelle Wilson.  She was preceded by her sister; Patiricia Jones and brothers, Jack and Jodie Jones.

A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at a later time at the request of the family.
