Barbara Jo (Gehringer) Urton

Barbara Jo (Gehringer) Urton, age 76, of Wilmington, passed peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Born in Wilmington on July 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Harold A. and Helen Elizabeth Black Gehringer.

A 1966 Wilmington High School graduate, Barb went on to work as a beautician in several Wilmington shops and was a shop owner herself.  She was an avid quilter and a member of the Clinton County Quilters Association. Barb enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a friend of Lois W.

Barb was a Child Charter Member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Wilmington.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Urton and beloved daughter, Teresa Jewett, both of Wilmington.

Also left to cherish her memory is sister in-law, Charity Gehringer; sister-in-law and brother in-law, Norma and Bill Hasz; sister-in-law Cecilia Gulley; brother-in-law, Tim Urton; several nieces and nephews, including Cheryl and Mark Ford and David and Tonya Gehringer; Vickie Deeds and Denny Hasz; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul Gehringer, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dave and Maxine Urton.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Hospice of Dayton and especially to Nurse Abby.

Visitation will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Wilmington, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 10am until noon, when a funeral service will begin.  Burial will take place at Sabina Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.  Memorial contributions can be made to Ohio Hospice of Dayton.
