Betty J. Bean Blankenship, 94, of Sabina, passed peacefully on Thursday evening January 25, 2018 at Court House Manor, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 11, 1923 in Farmers Station, the daughter of Horace and Marjorie Sims King. She was preceded by her husbands, Dale Bean in 1982 and Arlie Blankenship in 2005. A 1943 graduate of Martinsville High School, Betty had taken on many jobs including a telephone operator at Wright Patterson AFB, owned and operated Bean’s restaurant, worked at Autumn Years Nursing Home, she worked with Dale at Bean and Hamilton Grain elevator in Melvin. A member of Sabina’s Women of the Moose and Sabina Church of Christ. She dearly loved her kids, grand, great and great great grandchildren. And certainly going shopping anytime and anywhere. She is survived by her daughters, Marty (Mell) Wickensimer and Sandy (Jim) Armstrong all of Washington C. H. and Arlie's daughter Loretta (Arnold) Rittenhouse of Texas and their family. Grandchildren; Mark (Jackie Garringer) Wickensimer, Mindi Wickensimer, Aimee Campbell, Brandon (Kasey) Armstrong and Cassidy (Wesley) Bell. Great grandchildren, Deana Ison, Hunter Hamilton, Macy Jones, Griffin, Madison, Kenedi Campbell, Brady, Luke and Cooper Armstrong., Peyton and Gavin Bell. Great great grandchildren; Jaxton Bolin and Josiah Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her twin brother Bobby Gene and sister Martha Lea King. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 31 from 11-1:00 p.m. with her funeral service following at 1:00 at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Hospice of Fayette County. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff of Court House Manor and Hospice of Fayette County for all their loving care.
