Betty Whittington

Betty Whittington, age 99, of Sabina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Court House Manor.

Born in Jamestown on June 18, 1927, she was the daughter of James Burgess Crumrine, Sr. and Lelia Richards Cumrine.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arthur Whittington, on December 30, 2007.

A graduate of Cedarville High School and Cedarville College, Betty was a school teacher for over 30 years at Bowersville Elementary. She was a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association and the Sabina Church of Christ.

Along with being a teacher, Betty and Paul raised four boys on a dairy farm just outside of Sabina. In her retirement, they enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. Betty took pleasure in playing Bridge and Thursday lunches with some loyal friends at local restaurants.

Betty is survived by her sons: Paul Allen Whittington, Phil (Guiyum) Whittington, and Pat (Susie) Whittington; daughter in-law, Lynne Whittington; grandchildren: Carrie (Jon) Hogue, Candie (David) Glover, Cassie Whittington, Cherie (Nick) Campbell, Melena (Josh) Dillingham, Monica (Grant) Bain, Mary (Taylor) Glancey, Scott Whittington, Shaun (Chantha) Whittington, Shannon (Matthew) Sparks, and Ty (Sarah) Whittington, and Jill (Brian) Bland; along with several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Perry Whittington, and daughter in-law, Carolyn Whittington, and granddaughter, Christie Wilt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Ohio’s Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 12pm. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
