Bonnie E. Milstead, age 90, of Jeffersonville, passed peacefully at home, in the presence of her family, on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Born in Fayette County on November 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ervin G. and Dorothy Miller Bowen.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Jack Milstead, who passed in 1992.
She was a 1949 graduate of Jeffersonville High School. Bonnie was a devoted homemaker who loved to spend time outside. She enjoyed tending to her garden and traveling. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and, while her sons were in Scouts, she actively participated in the Mother’s Scout Auxiliary for Troop 67 – she was the proud mother and grandmother of two Eagle Scouts.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Lynn (Rick) Lewis and Susan (Larry) Smith, all of Jeffersonville, and John (Freda) Milstead of Washington Court House. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Chris (Kristen) Lewis, Erin (Andy) Thompson, Kyle Swaney, Justin (Shannon) French, Trevor Milstead, Tierra Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, and honorary granddaughter, Chrissy Coe; greatgrandchildren: Skylar (Alexis), Ethan (Lauren), Ivy, Josh, Ebony, Gracie, Caiden, Kelsey, Collin, Maddie, Nolan, Jake, Justin, Joseph, Vivian and Paisley; great-greatgrandchildren: Haddie and Christian; sister in-law, Louise Bowen; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved cat, Sassy; and grand-dogs, Elfie and Dewey.
In addition to her husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Milstead; great-granddaughter, Hailey Swaney; and brother, Bob Bowen.
Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 3-5pm, when a funeral service will begin.
