Chad T. Runyon, age 45, of New Vienna, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Born on May 28, 1980, in Columbus, he was the son of Melissa Corder Cole and Terry E. (Janice) Runyon.
Chad was a 1999 graduate of White Oak High School and attended the Leesburg Church of Christ. He loved to tell stories about things he experienced and saw. In his element when he was around people, Chad would talk to anyone – he didn’t know a stranger.
Chad enjoyed country music, laughing and having fun, mushroom hunting, being outdoors and pulling pranks or teasing his siblings, especially his brother. He umpired several baseball games at Schaffer Park. He’d always attend sporting events that his son was involved in and loved him more than anything.
In addition to his parents, Chad is survived by his son, Braxton Runyon; siblings: Erin Hicks, Todd (Janielle) Runyon, Casey (Clint) Lucas, Christina (Sean) Evans, and Terra (Bryce) Fitch; his significant other, Whitney Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Chad was preceded in death by his step-father, David Cole.
Visitation will be held at Wilmington Bible Baptist Church on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 3pm until the time of service at 6pm. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
