Daniel L. “Smiley” Johnson, 82, of Jamestown, passed away on Monday evening, June 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Greene County, September 22, 1933 the son of Coile and Margie Eubanks Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Georgianna Crowe Johnson whom he married in 1952.
A graduate of Port William High School, Smiley worked at Frigidaire, built homes in the Wilmington area for many years and retired from Jurgensens. He loved wood working, was able to build anything, and also enjoyed going to auctions, spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Also surviving are his children, Terri Johnson, Danny A. (Deborah) Johnson, David (Vicki) Johnson and Jeff Johnson all of Jamestown. Also left to cherish his memory are a daughter in law, Tonia Johnson of Wilmington; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great grandchildren; along with brothers, Robert E. (Helen) of Port William and Marion “Doc” (Marcia) Johnson of Traverses, FL.
He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas, and sisters, Priscilla Johnson and Gwenn Thompson.
A funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Friends may call from 11-1. Burial will be in the New Maple Grove Cemetery.
