David L. McConnaughey, age 78, of Wilmington, and formerly of Sabina, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Four Seasons in Washington Court House.
Born in Greenfield on January 27, 1943, David was the son of the late Harry and Margene (Crute) McConnaughey.
He leaves behind his wife of nearly 50 years, Jean (Sprinkle) McConnaughey. The two were united in marriage on August 6, 1971.
David was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from MAC Tool as a press operator and enjoyed yardwork. David was an avid Reds, OSU and Bengals fan – he loved sports.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by children: LaDonna Scaggs, Robert (Debbie) Vance, and LaVonne (Jim) McCandless; daughter in-law, Karen Vance; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a brother, Andy McConnaughey.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by step-son, Danny Vance; and siblings: Mona Lou Storts, Rev. Jerry, Larry and Ronald McConnaughey.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial at Sabina Cemetery. Littleton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
