Deannie Ison

Deannie Ison, age 62, of Milledgeville, passed away on Friday evening, February 9, 2024, at his home.

Born in Fayette County, April 9, 1961, he was the son of Ellis and Della Pennington Ison.

He is survived by his wife, Tonda Evans Ison, whom he married April 10, 1979.

After school he had joined the Army.  Following the Army, Deannie had worked as a heavy equipment operator and loved doing all kinds of work. Deannie enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, grilling out, sitting around the fire and enjoying a cold one. He loved his family and especially spending time with his brother Robert.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children: Laura (Charlie) Ison Puckett of Moreland, KY, Della Ison of Xenia, Joyce (Adam Salyers) Ison of Sandy Hook and Darryl Dean (Sylvia Renee Conger) Ison of Octa. He helped to raise, and was a father figure to, Ronnie and Kenny Ison. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Jordan (Cindy King) Wells, Quinton (Hannah) Wells, Brett (Tiffanie) Wells, Levi (Paige Osborne) Kelley, Devin (Katelyn Runnels) Ison, Rodney (Vanessa Queen) Ison, Abigail (Skyler Buckner) Ison, Destiny Black, Clayton (Hadassah Oliver) Black, Braden (Alexis Kench) Skaggs, Gavin Salyers and Johnny Salyers;7 great grandchildren; and siblings: Joyce Albright, Christina Ison, Angela Ison and Robert (June) Ison.

Deannie was preceded in death by a grandson, Dylan Salyers; and siblings: Martha Lewis, Glenda Riddle, Gloria Ison, JoAnna Bishop, Beatrice Pruitt, Frank Ison and Ellis Ison Jr.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 6pm until 8pm, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. A funeral service, at the funeral home, will be on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Noon.  Burial will follow in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. The family would appreciate memorial donations to the funeral home to help with the expenses.
