Donna M. Elkin

Donna M. Elkin, age 75, of North Port, Florida, peacefully passed away at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 4, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Maria A. Chiofolo Giacoppo and Orazio S. ‘Ozzie’ (Ruth Harrington) Giacoppo.

Donna is survived by her husband, Ron Elkin.

After graduating high school, Donna attended college and then worked in a bank, as a bookkeeper. She was also known and loved by many working at Walmart in Wilmington.

Donna was loved by many and a friend to all. She truly loved everyone she met and had a way of making everyone feel cared for and considered. A nurturing heart and a creative soul, she was always dreaming up imaginative ideas and finding unique ways to bring them to life.

In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her daughter, Rachel Weidringer, of Sabina. She is also survived by siblings: Marie E. Colby, Salvatore A. Giacoppo, Dominic M. Giacoppo, Frank P. Giacoppo, Mariano F. Giacoppo, and Andrew E. Giacoppo.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Allen Weidringer, and siblings: Lena A. Nardi and Joseph A. Giacoppo.

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10-11am, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
