Dorothy M. McArthur

Dorothy M. ‘Dottie’ McArthur, age 85, of Columbus, formerly of Milledgeville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Born in Fayette County on October 25, 1940, she was the daughter of John and Mae Grooms Anderson.

Her husband, Larry E. McArthur, preceded her in death in 2011.

Dottie retired from General Motors. She enjoyed attending craft shows and spending time with her family. Most of all, Dottie loved being with her grandchildren and taking them to do whatever they wanted.

Dottie is survived by her children: Dana Cox, Rhonda Rideout, and Rob Bennett. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Sean (Jenny) Davis, Sheri (Rod) Murphy, Greg (Chasity) Cox, Chad Davis, Tisha Davis and Kyle Bennett; great grandchildren: Buffy (Nic Branno) Murphy, Zach (Hannah) Murphy, Connor Davis, Faith (Malachi Shope) Cleveland, Allison Cox, Caitlyn Davis, Gavin Bowman, Cailee Cox, Landon Bowman, Bo Bennett, and Aiden Bennett; along with great-great grandchildren: Wrenley Johns, Kinsley Shope, Ava Brannon, Leyland Cleveland, Warren Brannon and Jack Murphy; and her sister, Helen Self.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to OhioHealth Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 12pm until 2pm, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Milledgeville Plymouth Cemetery.
