Dorothy H. Snider Scott

Dorothy H. Snider Scott, age 78, of Hillsboro and formerly of New Vienna, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Born on November 25, 1946, in Sabina, she was the daughter of Ervin and Christina Hughes Snider.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Scott, in 2011.

She was a member of the Samantha Bible Baptist Church. When her health allowed, Dorothy enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She loved birdwatching and tending to her flowers but was happiest spending time with her family; holidays, cookouts and fishing trips were among her favorites.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Carl (Mary) Scott, Jr. and Joyce (Larry) Ward of Hillsboro, Sherry Scott of New Vienna, Chris Scott of Colorado and Angela (Spencer) Stone of Hillsboro; grandchildren: Erika, Miranda, Sean, CJ, Jarrod, Tyler, Austin, Kayla, Destiny, Emily, Nicholas and Alissa; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Deubel of Goshen and James Snider of Martinsville.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Jane Snider and Ruth Runyon, and brother, Harold Snider.

Friends may call at Samantha Bible Baptist Church on Saturday November 1, 2025, from 10am until 12pm, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at New Vienna IOOF Cemetery. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
