Dorothy H. Weidinger, age 100, passed peacefully at Cape May in Wilmington on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Born on January 2, 1924, in Pickaway County, she was the daughter of George F. and Jennie Marie Metzger Weidinger.
Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Deerfield Township High School in Clarksburg, and graduated from Wilmington College in 1952.
She retired from teaching elementary and junior high school after 7 years in Beavercreek and 33 years in Kettering. Dorothy was a member of the former Hope United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association. Dorothy was an avid golfer and past president of the Rollandia Golf League. She loved volunteering at the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton where she participated in the portrayal of a teacher in a one room school.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by siblings: Orville, Millard, John, Joe, Martha and Georgianna Weidinger, Jennie Mae Shaw, Florence Kempton, Marian Orihood, Betty Albright, and Joanne Oesterle.
Dorothy is survived by a host of nieces, nephews including Sally Orihood and Susan Smith and extended family members.
Visitation will be on Wednesday July 10, 2024, at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Muhlenberg Township Cemetery.
