Douglas Floyd Hawkins, age 73, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday July 3, 2024, at the Adena Medical Center.
He was born August 30, 1950, to the late Francis Hawkins and Betty Hook Hawkins McDonough.
A graduate of Waynesville High School, he was an over the road truck driver for many years and most recently drove part time for Diverse Building Solutions.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Marsha Larch Hawkins. Also left to cherish his memory are their children: Laura (Alroy) Case of Peebles, Marilyn (Edward) Sanders of Sandy Lake, PA, and Mattie (Chris) Ferguson of Hillsboro; grandchildren: Jesika Case, Roy (Amanda) Case, Elizabeth (Chris) Case, Michael Ferguson, Christopher (Kaylee) Ferguson, William (Hailee) Hendee, Robert Hendee, and Douglas (Taylor) Hawkins; great-grandchildren: Jordan and Jacob Cox, Latham, Waylan, Wylie, Wrenly, and Whitley Case, Colten Pohlman, Kinsley Ferguson, Lakota and Laikley Jo Ferguson, Amara Hendee and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Doug is also survived by his brothers: David Hawkins and Michael (Kim) Hawkins; brothers in-law, Richard (Terry) Larch, Jack Hicks and Jeff Case; and special friends: Shira Cartwright, and her son, Conner, who made their home with the Hawkins for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dee Ann Case; sisters in-law Linda Hawkins, Cindy Hawkins, Linda King, and Susan Hicks, and great grandchild, Jalynn Cox.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at noon at the Sabina Cemetery under the direction of Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Friends are invited to a dinner afterward at 2501 S. Sanders Rd., Hillsboro OH.
Memorial contributions would be welcomed to the funeral home to help with expenses.
