Earl (Will) Leon Stryker, born May 3, 1937, in Jamestown, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2022, after a courageous, five-month battle with lymphoma. Earl was the son of the late Paul and Vera (Landon) Stryker.
He was preceded in death by his bride of 54 years, Janice (Slone) Stryker, and his sister Paula (Stryker) Elliott.
He is survived by his three children, Shawn (Keith) Pandorf, Denise Stryker, and Jeff (Barbara) Stryker. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Donald (Jenny) Stryker, and brother-in-law Adam (Linda) Slone.
Earl was blessed and is survived by thirteen grandchildren who loved and respected him – D.J. Henry, Tiffiny (Chris) Summers, Anna (Hanford) Pittman, Casey Redfern, Pieter Stryker, Annika (Blake) Brashear, Stefan (Anna) Stryker, Sascha Stryker, Katrina Stryker, Shane Stryker, and Kiersten Stryker. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren who loved their grandpa – Chase, Carson, Catherine, Caroline, Christian, Alexa (Ronnie), Tristan and Preston. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Earl graduated from Port William High School in 1955. He then served for three years in the US Army Dental Detachment in Fort Hood, TX. Upon discharge, he then worked for 30 years for General Motors at the Inland plant in Dayton. In addition, he farmed crops at his home and over the years, Earl enjoyed having horses and training them for harness racing.
Earl was a faithful member of Port William United Methodist Church, his entire life, serving on several committees and in leadership positions. Earl was a wonderful father, brother, husband, grandpa, and friend. He welcomed people into his home and served others well.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Port William United Methodist Church, 241 Main St., Port William, 45164.
Friends may call, at Port William UMC, on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 10am – 12 Noon, when a funeral service will begin. Burial to follow at New Maple Grove Cemetery. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
