Evelyn Marie (Maze) Johnson

Evelyn Marie Johnson, 94 of Detroit, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

She was born March 31, 1930, in Sabina, Ohio, a daughter of the late Issac F. Maze and Bernice M Johnson.

Evelyn graduated from Sabina High School, Sabina, OH, Ohio State University, Columbus, OH and Emory University Nursing School, Atlanta, GA.  Evelyn also had her own business, E.J. Janitorial services for many years.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Charles Johnson, sons: Bruce Banks, Charles Johnson, Jr., Eugene Banks, Jr., sisters: Opal Scott and Katherine Johnson, and brothers: Issac Maze , Jr. and James Johnson. Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Barbara J. Williams, 9 grandchildren; Carmen Shabazz,  Alonzo Banks, Suzie Stevens, Vaughn Echols, William "Fraizer" Williams, O'Neal Williams, Jr., Oneal "Alex" Williams, Kanesha Banks, Kenyatta Banks and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date with burial at Sabina Cemetery.
