As the sun set on July 20, 2026, Garrett Matthew Gollahon, age 26, left this world after an unimaginable battle with metastatic Ewings Sarcoma. He was surrounded throughout his battle by the enduring love of family and friends who never left his side.
Garrett embraced life with a contagious spirit. He lived each day with determination, humor, and heart. He was vivacious, with an infectious spirit that drew people to him.
Garrett was an incredibly hard-working young man. He would return to work only a day or two after receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Garrett was exceptionally athletically gifted. He played every sport extremely well. Baseball. Football. Basketball. Wrestling. Rugby. He was also a very gifted poker player. Poker games fueled his desire to keep living when his body could no longer play sports.
Garrett is survived by his mother, Angel Gollahon; his father, Matthew Gollahon; his sister & brother-in-law, Brittney and Andrea Vertopi; his niece & nephew, Luna & Leo; and his grandmother, Kathy Hawkins.
Garrett is also survived by his precious girlfriend, Lauren Parks, a remarkable young woman who chose to love our baby throughout his hardest days.
He also leaves behind a large extended family, countless friends, and all those whose lives were forever touched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit.
Rest in peace, BabyBoy.
