Jaime Kay Cox

Jaime Kay Cox, age 43, of Amelia, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. 

Born in Wilmington on October 13, 1982, she was the daughter of Marilyn K. Flor Cox, of Urbana and the late James W. Cox.

Jaime earned a Masters Degree in Education from Lyndsey Wilson College and received her license from the state to practice as a Professional Clinical Counselor. She was devoted to helping children and families and patients with addiction. To her it was more than a career, it was a calling. She always strived to make a difference, and she did. Spending time with her family and being Aunt Jaime to Gavin and Hannah was a source of great joy. She was an amazing and fiercely loyal friend and devoted cat mom to Monty. Jaime loved to travel and was always thinking about the next adventure. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting and plastic canvas crafting. Her happy place was by the ocean.

In addition to her mother, Jaime is survived by brothers: Joshua (Katie) Cox of Wilmington and Jeremy Cox of New Vienna. Also left to cherish her memory are her adored niece and nephew, Gavin and Hannah Cox.

Jaime was preceded in death by her father, James W. ‘Jimmy’ Cox.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jaime’s name would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society in tribute to her grandmother, Kate Cox and her father, Jimmy Cox.
