Joann Flor Swearingen, age 78, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, December 14, 2025.
Born on February 22, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Herman F. and Carmen E. (Huffman) Flor.
Joann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles R. ‘Dick’ Swearingen, on October 27, 2019.
A graduate of Sabina High School, Joann was a member of the 1965 class. During her son’s younger years, she enjoyed being a baseball mom and kept the team stats. She enjoyed traveling and attending NASCAR and drag races with her husband. Joann loved Christmas time and attending the Daisy Festival in Georgia. She was a collector of treasures, but her greatest one was her family. Joann was often hosting family gatherings, reunions and holidays.
She is survived by sons: Alan (Jennifer) Swearingen of Janesville, Wisconsin and Kyle Swearingen of Wilmington. Also left to cherish her memory are two grandsons, Owen and Skyler; sisters: Carolyn Moore, Christy Flor Davis, Marilyn Cox, and Timi Lee; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Joann was preceded in death by sister, Susan Colen.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, should be directed to Ohio Living Hospice (1701 Llanfair Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224).
Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 11 am until the time of service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
