June 25, 1925 — January 29, 2017

Joseph Wilson Saville, 91 of Sabina passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 25, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Emmett Saville and Lorena (Adams) Saville.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Ruth (Van Pelt) Saville. In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his children Linda (Steve) Rath of Hilliard, Stephen (Barbara) Saville of Sabina, Scott (Maretta Alden) Saville of Sabina, Lisa (David Morgan) Saville of Sabina and Sean Saville of Newport, KY; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother Don Saville of Rushville, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by 1 grandchild.

Joe graduated in 1943 from Sabina High School. He was a retired farmer. In his retirement, he continued his passion for photography with Tweedle Swamp Photography. He also became known as a local historian collecting photographs and stories from the Sabina area. He was a life long Reds fan, avid golfer and lover of music. His love of travel took the couple on many wonderful adventures.

A long time member of the Sabina Church of Christ, Joe served in many roles within the church. He especially enjoyed teaching his Sunday School class and preparing communion meditations.

The family will receive visitors at the Sabina Church of Christ from 10:00 to 12:00 with the memorial service beginning at 12:00, Saturday, February 4, 2017 Joe has donated his body to the Ohio State University College of Medicine.
