Joy N. Vance

Joy N. Vance, of Sabina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22nd, at Courthouse Manor in Washington Court House, Ohio. She was born to Lester B. Mitchell and Mary R. Mitchell and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by her deep love for family and quiet strength.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Tammy Zimmerman of Washington Court House; Randall (Brittany McKinney) Vance of Sabina; and Holly (Gregory) Franey of Westerville. Joy was especially proud of her grandchildren, whom she lovingly referred to as her “pride and joy”: Matthew (Krystal) Vance, Brogen (Zechariah) Griffith, Katelyn (Jordan) Smith, Hillary (Nick) Harr, and Devin (Nicole) Shinshock.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Avery, Chesney, Jeremiah, Chandler, Emersyn, Graham, Gianna, and Addilyn.

Joy is survived by her siblings: Norma Lee Farley, Mary Lou Downing, Vivian Lemmings, and Nancy (Carl) Piatt; and one very special niece, Lesa Briggs. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever remember her warmth, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobbie N. Vance; her infant daughter, Robin Lynn; her parents, Lester B. Mitchell and Mary R. Mitchell; and her siblings, Betty Brown, Emmagene Palmer, Janet Dearth, James Mitchell, and Robert Mitchell.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, February 28 at 1:30pm at the funeral home with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to The Trinity Church Food Outreach.
