Mabel L. (Stanforth) Merkle

Mabel L. Merkle, 90, of Wilmington, passed from this life on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Cape May.

She was born November 4, 1927, in Wayne Township the daughter of H. Glenn and L. Ruth Smart Stanforth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, on March 17, 2000.

A graduate of Wayne High School and The Cincinnati Bible College, she and her husband, Arthur, were the founding members of The Wilmington Church of Christ.  They served in ministry their whole lives together.

Survived by their children, Ron and Karen Merkle, and Ray and Lisa Merkle.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Joshua, Austin, Tyler (Rachael), Kyle (Kristin) and Andrew; great grandchildren: Catherine and Aaron; and a brother, Charles (Nell) Stanforth.

Her funeral service will be on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Wilmington Church of Christ.  Friends may call on Wednesday, also at the church, from 5:00 – 8:00.  Burial will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
