Marilyn Sue Haines

Marilyn Sue Haines, age 87, of Sabina, passed away on Saturday June 13, 2026, at Cooper Knoll Nursing Center in Washington Court House.  

She was born October 1, 1938, in East Monroe, the daughter of Herbert and Hazel Powell Cox.

She is survived by her husband Edward T. Haines III, whom she was married to for 40 years.

Sue had retired from Autumn Years Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sabina, after several years.  She enjoyed music, being a singer and playing bass in her family's band.

She is survived by her children: Doug Self of Cincinnati, Kent Self of Peebles, Rhonda Self of Greenfield, Sandy Crabtree of Lucasville, John Rogers of Pennsylvania, Bobby Rogers of Washington Court House and four grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonya Rogers; son Tony Cockrell; grandson Nathan Crabtree; and her brothers, Herb Cox and Larry Cox.

In following Sue's wishes, she will be cremated and buried in Sabina Cemetery.  There will be no services.
