Martin O. Smith passed away at Fayette Memorial Hospital on March 24, 2016. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Martin was born on September 24, 1944 to Otties and Anna Spurgeon Smith, the youngest of four children. He lived his whole life in Fayette County. Martin was a 1962 graduate of Sabina High School.
On March 13, 1965, Martin married the love of his life, the former Gerry Allen.
Martin’s passion for farming was lifelong. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique tractors and working the sawmill at the Clinton County Corn Festival with his family.
Martin is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gerry, and his children, Lana and her husband, Jim Pavey, Kirk Smith and Tara Smith.
He is also survived by his brothers, Raymond (Edna) Smith and Leroy (Dorothy) Smith; and his sister, Kate (Tom) Pawley; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and their families.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 4-7 pm at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 am.
