Phylis 'Pj' Jean (Spurgeon) Brackney

Phylis Jean 'PJ' Spurgeon Brown Brackney, age 85, of Sabina, passed peacefully at home on Monday, March 14, 2022.

Born in Wilmington on July 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Caro and Elizabeth 'Mae' (Lemon) Spurgeon.

PJ was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond 'Bill' Brackney, in 1983.

A graduate of Simon Kenton School, PJ retired from MAC Tools/Stanley, where she worked in Human Resources.  She was a member of the Sabina Moose, the Wilmington Elks, the Eagles and American Legion in Washington Court House.

Left to cherish her memory are sons: Michael Brown of Hillsboro and Timothy Brown of Milford; along with grandchildren: Shelly Jean, Michelle, and Bryon; six great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The last of her family, PJ was preceded in death by siblings: Richard, Margaret, Doris, Kenneth and Barbara.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to any of the organizations PJ was a member of, or the Cancer Society.

A graveside service will take place at 1pm on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
