Ramona Ann (Mize) Fox

Ramona Ann Fox, age 86, of Wilmington, passed peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on February 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Lee Mize and Martha Austin Rae.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Raymond L. Fox, in 2011.

In her younger years, Ramona worked at Dudts Bakery in Pennsylvania.  She retired from Wilmington Schools, as a bus driver, after 25 years.

Ramona was a member of the Wilmington Assembly of God.  She loved children and enjoyed helping in the church nursery.  Ramona was also a member of the 55 and Alive group.

She was known lovingly as Mona Ann, Sister, Mom, Aunt Mona, Aunt Moda, Ramona, Nana, Great Nana, Mrs. Fox, Foxy Lady and ‘Trouble’.

She leaves behind children: Pamela (Tony) Lee of Russellville, Arkansas, James Fox and Barbara (Gary) Andrews, all of Wilmington.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Tiffany (Nate) Beaudry, Holten (Kimberly) Lee, Kyler Fox, Garrett (Courtney) Andrews, and McKenzie (Lucas) Plotner; great-grandchildren: Xander, Kynzengten, Daxxten, Silver, Eleanor and Alice; and sister, Sandy (Mark) Southern of North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews, and a great niece.

In addition to her husband, Ramona was preceded in death by grandchildren A.J. Fox and Justin Fox.

Family will receive friends at Wilmington Assembly of God on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 11am – 1pm, when a funeral service will begin.  Burial to follow at Clinton Memory Gardens, Wilmington.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
