Robert LaPine, 83, of Wilmington passed away on May 26, 2017 at his home. He was born near Canaan in Jefferson County, Indiana to William and Iva Mae Richards LaPine on May 29, 1933. Robert proudly served in the US Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Campaign. He retired from Mead Containers of Washington C.H. in 1996 and in retirement worked for Wal-Mart in lawn and garden, as a people greeter and loved helping Santa. Robert also volunteered at Sugartree Ministries though the years and attended the Wilmington Church of God. Preceding him in death are his parents, grandson Luke LaPine, 8 sisters and 4 brothers. Surviving is his wife Dorothy whom he married on October 12, 1957, children; Gregory (Renee) LaPine, Jill (Dennis) Michael, Thomas (Shelby) LaPine and Jane (Thomas) Jarrell, grandchildren; Kyle Michael, Aimee (Chris) Branson, Angel (Nick) Martin, Kirk Michael, Andy Jarrell, Derek Jones, and Matthew Jarrell, great grandchildren; Logan Martin, Cole Glidewell, Kyson Michael, Nyko Jones, Eli Branson and Lincoln Martin. Brother Charles LaPine of Madison, IN., in-laws Charles Adams, Sue Long, Barbara Long, and his best friend, Jack Blythe, of Sabina. The family wishes to thank Community Care Hospice for all their loving care. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 31, 10:30am at the Littleton Funeral Home. Friends may call on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Clinton Memory Gardens.
