Robert B. Mitchell

Robert B. Mitchell, age 93, of Sabina, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Born in Sabina on November 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Lester B. and Mary Rebecca Creditt Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Bennington Mitchell, on February 1, 2017.

Robert was a 1950 Sabina High School graduate. He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korea Conflict and later worked at and retired from the Defense Electronics Supply Center in Dayton.

Robert enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to his weekly coffee dates with his sisters and enjoyed a special relationship with his brother in-law, Carl.  

He is survived by his children: Neal (Juleah) DeWitt, Joni (Gerrie) Greene, Tim (Mary Ann Morris) Mitchell and Lori (Terri Smith) Saffell. Also left to cherish his memory are seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; along with siblings: Norma Lee Farley, Mary Lou Downing, Joy Vance, Vivian Lemmings and Nancy (Carl) Piatt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by sisters: Betty Brown, Emmagene Palmer, Janet Dearth and brother, James Edward Mitchell.

Friends may call, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 11am – 1pm, when a funeral service will begin. Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
