Roger H. Boyer

Roger H. Boyer, age 89, of Jamestown, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 5, 2021.

Born on September 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Harold and Esther Hare Boyer.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Baker Boyer on January 18, 2021.  The two were married over 65 years, having wed on September 17, 1955.

A 1949 Beavercreek High School graduate, Roger went on to serve in the United States Army and later retired from Wright Patterson, where he worked in logistics.  He attended Jamestown Presbyterian Church.  Roger was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching games on television.  His favorites were the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and University of Kentucky basketball.

Roger is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Linda and Jim Fliehman, and daughter in-law, Judy Boyer. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Sean (Kim) Fliehman, Brian (Stephanie) Fliehman, Aaron Fliehman, Ben (Melissa) Boyer, Nate (Mandi) Boyer, Joe (Brooke) Boyer, Esther (Seth) Garret, Elizabeth (Lacoy) Allen, James Boyer, Naomi (Jacob) Kaiser, and Joshua Boyer; greatgrandchildren: Lily, Amelia, Violet, Conner, Daphne, Maddie, Sylvie, Elijah, and Adalie; and sister in-law, Jane Boyer.

In addition to his wife and parents, Roger was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Boyer, and siblings: Robert Boyer, Betty Wolfe, Winona Miller and Shirley Zink.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Community Care Hospice.

A public graveside will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 10:30am.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
