Ruth "Mickey" E. (Murphy) Young

Ruth E. ‘Mickey’ Young, age 71, of Wilmington, passed peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020.

Born on December 16, 1948, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Maxwell and Marjorie Jacoby Murphy.

Mickey was a 1966 Wilmington High School Graduate. She worked hauling livestock, running a food trailer at home and the fairgrounds, and at the Spillway Lodge Restaurant. For over 40 years, Mickey played the organ. She shared her incredible talent at the Presbyterian Church and the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where she was a member, both in Wilmington.

Mickey is survived by her husband, Gary Young. The two were united in marriage on December 22, 1967.

Also left to cherish her memory is their daughter, Jennifer Bair, of Wilmington; two granddaughters: Andria Slone and Kelsi Bair; great granddaughter, Kynlee; and her brother, Wayne (Nikki) Murphy of Wilmington; along with a host of extended family members.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Miami Valley.

A graveside service, at New Antioch Cemetery, will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:30am. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
