Shirley R. (Stewart) Tagg

Shirley R. Tagg, age 87, of Sabina, passed peacefully at Autumn Years on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Born on June 9, 1935, in Sabina, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Ruth Lancen Stewart.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tagg, on January 26, 1990.  The two were united in marriage on May 31, 1957.

In 1953, Shirley graduated from Sabina High School, where she was homecoming queen.  For 62 years, she worked for the Clinton County Health Department, Board of Elections, Clerk of Courts and, retired from the Title Office.  Shirley was a member of the Sabina Church of Christ and the Clinton County Republican Womens Club.

She leaves behind her children: Leesa R. (Thomas) Cox and James A. Tagg, all of Sabina.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Kyle (Terhan) Tagg, Melissa (Brian) Dilley, Monica (Marvin) Perez and Allen Tagg; great-grandchildren: Seth Tagg, Talynn Tagg, Alanis Tagg, Dalton Dilley, Lilah Dilley, Harper Perez, Chase Perez, and Abel Perez; siblings: Kay Stewart of Sabina, Ronald (Karen) Stewart of Englewood, Sue Jackson of Sabina; sisters in-law: Linda Stewart, Mary Tagg, and Violet Dawson; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by daughter in-law, Pam Tagg; brother, William Stewart; and brothers in-law: Don Jackson, Jack Tagg, Wayne Tagg, and Glen Tagg.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Activity Fund at Autumn Years.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 10am – 12Noon at the Sabina Church of Christ, where a funeral will take place at Noon.  Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
