Walter 'Dale' Faulkner

Walter Dale Faulkner, age 71, of Bowersville, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Born in Washington Court House on August 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Marion and Evelyn Swanson Faulkner.

Dale is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Delores Sturgill Faulkner.  The two were united in marriage on October 26, 1968.

Dale was a 1968 graduate of Wilmington High School and went on to serve in the United States Army.  He was a carpenter and worked in construction for many years.  Dale was employed by Miller Valentine Construction and later, enjoyed working alongside his son with Faulkner Contractors.

Dale was a former member of the American Legion in Wilmington.  He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and fishing with his son.  Dale was the President of the Greene County Horseshoe Club, and belonged to the Ohio Horseshoe Pitchers Association and the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association.

In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by their children: Dwain Faulkner, Lori (Rick) Barnhart, Brian (Deidra) Faulkner and Michelle (Brent Gibbs) Faulkner.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Katelynn (Zak Bushey) Barnhart, Keri (Skyler) Robinson, Cameron Barnhart, Dakota Faulkner, Marisa Faulkner, Trayden Harrington, Gavin Harrington, Eddie Gibbs, and Darcy (BJ) Jackson; along with six great-grandchildren; father in-law, Leslie Sturgill; sister in-law, Patricia Holleman; special extended family members, including Matt Ballard, Stevie Crum, Chrissy Davidson, Danny Davis, Bobby Pyles; and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Eugene Faulkner.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions can do so, in Dale’s honor, to the Greene County Horseshoe Club (3978 Orchard Grove Road, Sabina, 45169).

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 12 Noon until 2pm, when a funeral service will begin.  Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William.
