Wanda Lee Collins, age 75, of Wilmington, passed away on July 17, 2026, at St. Catherine's of Washington Court House.
Born in Wilmington on November 2, 1950, she was the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Constance) Collins.
A graduate of Wilmington High School, Wanda had a deep love for children. She began her career working with Head Start in Reesville while also serving as a nanny. She later worked at Laundry Chute on Rombach Avenue, where she eventually retired. During her years there, she became a familiar, friendly face and formed cherished friendships with many of the patrons. Wanda loved her bingo, crossword puzzles, watching television, painting, and above all, being a true social butterfly.
Wanda is survived by her sister, Mary Powell (Steve, dec.); nieces and nephews, Stephanie McKinney, Rob Hendee, Rachael Hendee, Tom Hendee, Brian Hendee, Jim Collins, and Becki (Collins) McRae; as well as several beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, two great-great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Collins; her sister, Anna Hendee (Lee, dec.); her brothers, David Collins and Richard Collins; and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be August 15, 2026. Place and time will be announced later.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina.
