William E. Mercer

William Edward Mercer, age 70, of Martinsville, passed peacefully at home on August 3, 2025.

Born in Twentynine Palms, California on October 19, 1954, he was the son of William Mercer and Ramona Graves.

Bill worked as an over-the-road trucker. He loved trucking, tinkering with old cars, and fishing. Bill was happiest spending time with his family.

Left to cherish Bill’s memory is his son and his wife, Kyle and Haylee Mercer; step-son, Kevin Gephart; former daughter in-law, Sarah (Terry) Mercer-Doyle; grandchildren: Zayn Mercer, Bexley Mercer, Braxton Mercer, Cash Doyle, Austin Mercer, Gage Mercer, Hailey Mercer, and identical twin girls, due in November, Remi and Montana Mercer; along with several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Chris Smith and Ron Sams.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; beloved stepfather, Rupert Osteen; and son, Wesley Mercer.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
