Becky Griffith Obituary

Becky Ellen Stout Griffith, age 68, of Farmers Station, passed at her home on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

She was born in Grove City on November 29, 1951.  Becky was the daughter of the late Rev. Elmer Stout and Glenna Elizabeth Carter, who resided in Wilmington. 

Becky married Jan Griffith, Sr. on July 16, 1970 at her home in western Clinton County, near Harveysburg.  She was a 1969 graduate of Clinton Massie High School and resided in Farmers Station for most of her married life. 

Becky enjoyed her job at the café at Clinton Memorial Hospital and always wanted to go back to work there.  She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger and treated everyone with kindness.  Becky was loved by many. 

She is survived by her husband; two daughters: Janet (Stuart) Schwartz of Farmers Station and Kathy Griffith of Wilmington; and son, Jan L. (Christie) Griffith, Jr. of Farmers Station.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Sarah (fiancé Nick Sharp) Schwartz of Milford, Theresa Schwartz, Billy Berner, Jr., Nicholas Griffith, Aaron Griffith and Sierra Hines, all of Wilmington and Jade, Troy and Lily Griffith of Farmers Station.  And three great grandchildren. 

Becky is also survived by three brothers: James Fyffe of Birch Tree, MO, Elmer Stout, III and Thomas Stout, Sr., all of Wilmington; four sisters: Judy (Fyffe) Landrum of Hamilton, Amanda (Fyffe) Smith of Nelsonville, Mary (Stout) Benson of Fort Hill, and Luann Marshall of Circleville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by a brother, Frank, and two sisters: Violet Mangel and Jeannie Baise. 

The family would like to thank everyone for the well wishes and prayers for the family and friends that knew or worked with Becky.  She may now rest free of pain and in peace forever. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to Vitas Hospice Care of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, or Martinsville/Clark Twp. Fire and EMS.  

Due to the COVID – 19 Global Pandemic no calling hours will be held. Becky will be laid to rest at New Antioch Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 2pm. A public celebration of life will take place at a later date.
